Researcher - Robotics & Autonomous Systems
Description
Our team of engineers, scientists, and software developers explores the potential of Artificial Intelligence to solve some of the world's most challenging problems. We integrate machine learning, systems modeling, advanced control, and mathematical optimization to tackle complex engineering challenges. Our ultimate mission is to develop sustainable technologies that drive progress and contribute to the advancement of human development.
About the position
At IDENER.AI, we donāt just implement technology; we explore its limits. We are looking for a Researcher with high to join our team. You will start by supporting the architecture of controllers for projects like ONE4ALL.
- Develop and deploy ROS2-based controllers and integrate advanced vision systems (IOP-RCPM) alongside Cobot end-effectors to bridge the gap between software and hardware.
- Investigate and apply Reinforcement Learning techniques, using Gymnasium/Gym libraries, to enhance how machines adapt to dynamic environments within our Decision Support Systems (DSS).
- Analyze and refine control architectures to identify bottlenecks in real-time execution, ensuring the reliability and performance of our RCPM modules.
- Conduct state-of-the-art research to propose new projects and innovative approaches.
- Draft technical and scientific reports to document findings, validate models, and contribute to high-impact deliverables for European consortiums.
- Collaborate in international environments, involving travel to partner meetings and world-class conferences to present project advancements and network with global experts.
Why is IDENER.AI the place for you?
- Our horizontal structure ensures you with the freedom to propose and execute solutions without bureaucratic barriers from day one.

- Our organisation is built on trust, cooperation, and equity, providing you with the safety and accountability required to propose and execute your own ideas from day one.
- You will always have a senior team acting as a safety net to guide and support you while you develop your full potential in the field of applied computational science.
Minimum requirements
- You should hold a University Degree in Engineeringāsuch as Industrial, Energy, Robotics, or Computer Scienceāor a strong background in Physics, ideally complemented by a Masterās degree or PhD in a relevant field.
- Professional proficiency in English is essential, as you will be responsible for drafting technical deliverables and engaging in high-level discussions within international consortiums.
- We expect a solid foundation in programming, particularly in Python, along with the ability to navigate technical challenges independently and translate theoretical concepts into functional models.
- For the robotics track, experience with ROS/ROS2 and control systems is highly valued, while the energy track requires a deep understanding of thermodynamics and techno-economic modeling.
- We look for individuals with the drive to lead their own work and the curiosity to explore the state-of-the-art to propose innovative solutions beyond the established project scope.
