Researcher - Renewable Energy

Description

Our team of engineers, scientists, and software developers explores the potential of Artificial Intelligence to solve some of the world's most challenging problems. We integrate machine learning, systems modeling, advanced control, and mathematical optimization to tackle complex engineering challenges. Our ultimate mission is to develop sustainable technologies that drive progress and contribute to the advancement of human development.

About the position

As a Researcher in our team, you will be responsible to develop the next-generation energy solutions by bridging the gap between fundamental physics and advanced digitalization. Modelling complex thermal/electrical systems and deploying AI-driven tools to optimise industrial efficiency and renewable energy integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop principle-based models to evaluate the technical and economic performance of renewable energy systems (PV, Solar Thermal, Hydrogen, etc.) and industrial waste heat recovery.
  • Apply a deep understanding of heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and electrical governing equations to simulate complex energy conversion processes.
  • Analyze high-dimensional data to maximize energy output, thermal management, and overall system efficiency across diverse industrial environments.
  • Architect and simulate large-scale energy facilities to create Digital Twins that mirror real-world performance with high precision.
  • Develop and deploy real-time control tools for the optimized management of energy plants, ensuring the seamless synergy between mechanical, electrical, and automation layers.
  • Implement ML-based forecasting methods to enhance system reliability, driving the transition from standard predictive maintenance to advanced Preventive and Prescriptive strategies.
  • Design and manage large-scale data pipelines for real-time analysis.
  • Deploy cloud-based decision-support tools (DSS) to optimize energy distribution, storage, and performance.
  • Stay at the forefront of global R&D in energy generation and storage, proactively integrating cutting-edge findings into active projects.
  • Collaborative spirit for multidisciplinary teams and excellent communication skills for international consortiums.
  • Actively engage with international partners and stakeholders within the EU framework.
