
Researcher - Manufacturing Technical Specialist
Published 23 of SeptemberWe are looking for a PV Materials Specialist to support the technical development of materials-related activities across various R&D projects, such as SOLARIS. These projects aim to drive innovation across different stages of the photovoltaic value chain, with a particular focus on the development, selection, and performance evaluation of PV materials and components.
The selected candidate will contribute to the analysis and characterisation of materials and components, the evaluation of their performance and reliability, and the identification of new material solutions. They will collaborate with research, engineering, and project management teams, supporting communication and coordination among the different stakeholders involved.

Key Responsibilities
- Analyse, characterise, and evaluate the performance, stability, and degradation of PV materials and components.
- Support the selection of raw and alternative materials, ensuring compatibility with manufacturing processes.
- Prepare technical documentation and reports, and track milestones and timelines.
- Identify and help resolve material-related technical issues during project development.
- Coordinate with project partners and international stakeholders within the EU framework, keeping up to date with the latest PV R&D.
Minimum requirements
- Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Technical background in solar manufacturing workflows and process development or optimisation.
- Knowledge of the PV manufacturing value chain, including silicon/thin-film processing and cell/module assembly technologies.
- Familiarity with process scale-up, quality control, or production engineering is a plus.
- Collaborative spirit for multidisciplinary teams and strong communication skills with technical, academic, and industrial stakeholders.
- Professional proficiency in English is essential, as you will be responsible for drafting technical deliverables and engaging in high-level discussions within international consortiums.
