Researcher - Chemical Process Modelling

Description

Our team of engineers, scientists, and software developers explores the potential of Artificial Intelligence to solve some of the world's most challenging problems. We integrate machine learning, systems modeling, advanced control, and mathematical optimization to tackle complex engineering challenges. Our ultimate mission is to develop sustainable technologies that drive progress and contribute to the advancement of human development.

About the position

We are on the lookout for fresh and innovative minds to enhance our research team in the role of Researcher. We welcome a driven engineer with expertise in chemical, industrial or biotechnology who possesses robust modelling abilities. If you are passionate about using mathematical and computational models to unravel engineering and scientific challenges, this is your chance to make a significant impact.

Your responsibilities will focus on:

  • Defining mathematical models for unit operations, incorporating detailed mass and energy balances, chemical reactions, mass diffusion processes, etc.
  • Coding these models within specialized simulation environments such as EES, Matlab, Python, OpenModelica, or equivalent.
  • Determining potential objective functions and constraints for system optimization using developed models.
  • Performing sensitivity analyses and optimization studies to assess different scenarios and pinpoint the most effective solutions.
  • Engage with interdisciplinary teams, including engineers, scientists, and researchers, to collect necessary data and comprehend project objectives.
  • Remain abreast of the latest in modelling techniques, tools, and best practices, and suggest enhancements or innovative methods to improve our modelling capabilities.
  • Document the modelling process, hypotheses, and outcomes in technical reports and presentations.
  • Work with software developers to transform models into accessible interfaces or incorporate them into current software platforms.
  • Contribute to R&D projects aimed at advancing methodologies and augmenting the organization's intellectual property.
